4 Educational & Fun Activities for Children in Brisbane
June 13, 2014
Brisbane is a wonderful family holiday destination. As TimeOut outlines, there is far more to do than just visit the incredible beaches. Here are some great ideas to keep the kids entertained during your travels, while also teaching them something new:
- Visit The Queensland Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art. These venues are not only great for adults, but both galleries also run fun programs so that children can get hands on with the art-making process.
- Take the kids to the Science Centre for the day. This fascinating place has heaps of wonderful interactive displays and fun things for the kids to look at.
- Go to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Kids can learn about koalas, kangaroos and other marsupials with daily presentations. There’s also an area where they can get up close and feed the animals and birds.
- Weather nice and hot? Why not visit the Chermside Water Park? Just 15 minutes drive from Brisbane’s CBD, this water park has slides, pools and lily pads galore.
This is just a small taste of what Brisbane has to offer young families. With all this and so much more to explore, an extended trip might just be in order!
