A festival that sells half its tickets before announcing any acts must have a solid reputation. Bluesfest celebrates 25 years of quality lineups in 2014 and has now announced the headline acts for its anniversary event in Byron Bay.
In a reported coup for the festival, Grammy Award winner John Mayer will share the top slot with Dave Matthews Band, another world-renowned act. Festival organiser Peter Noble is delighted to have both acts on board for this milestone in the festival’s history, promising more names to follow.
In the meantime, further acts already announced include Bluesfest regulars the John Butler Trio, appearing for the tenth time since the festival began, according to goldcoast.com.au. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Iron & Wine, Devendra Banhart and Gary Clark Jr are also scheduled to perform at April’s event.
Tickets are on sale now but will be capped at 20,000 people for each day of the festival.
