The Gold Coast is home to clear skies, white sands and turquoise waters – and over March and April, it will also be home to some of the region’s best visual art, music, dance and theatre. Here’s a taster of the many Bleach* festival highlights and some options for top holiday apartments on the Gold Coast.
Bleach* Opening Party – 29 March
We’re raring to see the Melbourne Ska Orchestra and Mighty Duke & The Lords bring their big, brassy sounds to the edge of the lake at Bond University. This event will be completely free (and a whole lot of fun).
Home Visit Australia – between 29 March and 7 April
What’s better than an intimate theatrical performance about the issues that affect our lives? How about these taking place in the homes of real GC residents? This will be a touching and unusual experience not to be missed.
Southport Live at The CBD Street Party – 5 to 15 April
Another free highlight that’s close to our hearts. More than 50 local musicians will take the stage and serenade you on the corner of Davenport and Young Street over 10 different afternoons and evenings.
Bleach* at Burleigh – 1 to 3 April
One for the kiddies! Bleach* Jnr offers food, workshops and interactive treats aplenty. Join in on the slapstick action of The Whale’s Tale and meet Lucas Proudfoot’s childhood friends in the Proud Foots Book Show.
The Ninth Wave – 5 to 7 April
A Bleach* festival exclusive, this theatrical journey explores the end of the world and the consequences of our choices. This show by The Farm includes a musical score by Ben Ely from Regurgitator.
