If rockabilly music, vintage fashion and low-rider cycles are your style, cruise on over to GreazeFest in Brisbane’s Rocklea Showground on August 1-3.
Rocking Brisbane for the fifteenth year, GreazeFest is a weekend celebration of ‘kustom kulture’ – music, pin-ups and, of course, hotted up vehicles!
Thousands of ultra-kool dudes will gather for the GreazeFest Hot Rod Show, along with the GreazeFest Art Show that proudly bares low brow art and tattoos.
World-renowned pinstriper, Von Hot Rod, will be a special guest from the US of A. This “Master of the Fine Line” travels the world pinstriping and holding workshops. Here is your chance to make over your possessions into a happening pinstriped item – from high-heeled shoes to your toolbox, from bowling pins to that very cool guitar.
Hundred of market stalls, fashion parades and live music throughout the day will keep the hepcats revved.
Heading the line-up of Aussie and international bands is Wayne ‘The Train’ Hancock, whose blend of traditional rockabilly, hillbilly boogie and swing is compared to ”the comfortable crackle of a Wurlitzer jukebox”.
Other performers include America’s Eddie Clendening, and Ruby Dee and The Snakehandlers from Texas.
If you miss it in Brisbane, you can catch GreazeFest in Melbourne, August 8-10.
