Hanging Out in Secret Brisbane
Thursday November 7th, 2013
People from Brisbane have their own phrases and their own spaces. Find out where the locals like to spend their time with these top tips from couriermail.com.au:
1. Tree Top Walk at Lamington National Park
Spanning 180 metres, the Tree Top Walk is found within O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat. Nine bridges suspended 15 metres above the ground form an elevated trail, with higher observation decks for the more adventurous.
2. Rooftop bar at Limes Hotel
Located in Fortitude Valley, the Limes Hotel is home to a rooftop cinema. Films both new and old are screened as viewers watch in comfort from sofas. Tickets are just $10 and movie night is Thursday.
3. Games Night at King George Square
The last Thursday of the month is also Games Night, when giant board games take over King George Square. Join in the oversized fun for free or bring your own game and start a new challenge.
4. Adult ballet classes at West End
Suitable for all ages and abilities, these classes are perfect if you’re just visiting as they are held on a drop-in basis. Head for Queensland Ballet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays – contemporary dance and Pilates classes are offered as alternatives to ballet.
