The Royal Queensland Show, also known as Ekka, is one of the most popular annual events in the state. Attended by over 400,000 people each year, Ekka features everything from food and wine to animals and free entertainment for families.
This year, the show will feature an interactive stand at the Woolworths Pavilion put on by the Brisbane City Council. The stand will highlight how the city is being transformed into a modern, accessible and inclusive place to live.
There will also be a simulated walk along the Story Bridge, free educational iPad games and an interactive touchscreen wall. The Ekka stand will have a range live performances by the city’s multicultural community.
One of the highlights of the show will be a virtual bus tour that takes attendees on a simulated ride through the city’s most famous landmarks. The bus ride is said to look and sound like a real bus-ride experience.
The 2013 Ekka show will be held on Sunday, August 17, at the RNA Showgrounds in Bowen Hills. The gates open at 8.30 am.
