Music Lovers: Don’t Miss Blues on Broadbeach 2017

Thursday May 4th, 2017

Whether you’re a regular to the Gold Coast or are planning your first visit soon, it’s definitely worth arranging your stay around the Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival. This year it stretches over the weekend of 18-20 May, and the line-up is certainly set to impress!
What is Blues on Broadbeach?

Blues on Broadbeach has been celebrating blues, roots and soul on the Gold Coast since 2002, and it keeps getting bigger and better. This festival opens up the streets of Broadbeach with no fences or gates to contend with. Instead, you can wander from venue to venue and find whatever takes your fancy.

The best part of all is that the music festival is completely, 100% free! The only thing you need to do is turn up early to the sessions you want to see, as the program runs on a “first in best dressed” principle.

What are the highlights of Blues on Broadbeach in 2017?

Ian Moss is one of the headliners, and the Cold Chisel guitarist and solo artist will bring his unique flavour of gutsy, bluesy rock along with his distinctive guitar riffs to the stage. This is definitely one not to miss on Sunday 21 May.

Heard of Total Eclipse of the Heart? Of course you have! Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler is also heading to Blues on Broadbeach on Sunday 21 to delight the audience with her full range of hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s. This will be a true treat for music lovers of all ages.

Blues on Broadbeach has a focus on local and Australian acts in its jam-packed program. The Slim Jim Phantom Trio, Jimi Hocking’s Blues Machine, Harts, Ray Beadle and Kevin Borich will also be captivating crowds for a stellar few days of ultra-expressive music.

Along with the music and plenty of activities for kids, there’s also a wide range of food and drink to be enjoyed from Broadbeach’s usual fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants as you wander through the CBD and enjoy the events.
