Sean O’Boyle Debuts New Work at the Brisbane Festival
Sunday October 6th, 2013
The Gold Coast has long been known as one of Australia’s best destinations for music and music festivals. That includes classical music such as that heard at the Symphony Under the Stars, which is to be held at Brisbane’s Riverstage on September 20th.
The highlight of this year’s symphony will be the premier of an original work by Australian composer Sean O’Boyle. O’Boyle is an Aussie but he’s been living in New York City for the past few years. He penned a new work based upon his experiences as an Australian in the Big Apple.
Symphony Under the Stars is part of the acclaimed Brisbane Festival. Festival Music Director Noel Staunton specifically commissioned the unnamed original piece from O’Boyle for the event. O’Boyle is scheduled to fly in from New York to attend the world premiere of his new piece.
The Brisbane Music Festival is home to some of the best music in the world. This year’s festival promises to be better than ever.
