Sydney Architecture Tours
Sunday October 13th, 2013
Sydney Architecture Walks founder Eoghan Lewis takes visitors on architect-guided tours of Sydney’s culture as expressed through the design of the city’s most remarkable structures.
Lewis has designed his Architecture Walks to be anything but the typical architectural tour. No pointing out buildings and regurgitating historical facts. He considers architecture to be great public art.
Lewis said that architecture gives people an insight into what is at the heart of a place, what created the city.
Lewis’ Architecture Walks and the Architecture Bike Tours feature only the most provocative buildings, whether most people would consider them beautiful, laughable or just an example of something sustainable.
Visitors can choose between four different tours:
The City brings to light the historical, social, environmental and political personality of Sydney.
Utzon focuses on the majesty and brilliance of Joern Utzon’s Sydney Opera House.
Harbourings profiles the city’s industrial western edge.
The Five Suburb Sydney Dérive bike tours through some of Sydney’s hippest city suburbs such as Surry Hills, Chippendale, Ultimo, Redfern and Millers Point.
