Five Ways to See Sydney Like the Rich and Famous

30 March 2014

Everyone deserves to feel special from time to time and there’s nothing more special than a holiday in the style of your favourite celebrity. Unfortunately, for most of us, private islands, superyachts and outer space is not within budget, but there’s nothing stopping you from a great weekend in Sydney.
Sydney has been a favourite haunt of the rich and famous for many years, with celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Toni Collette all owning homes there. Other celebs that have holidayed in the city recently include Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as well as talk show queens Ellen Degeneres and Oprah.

So how do you enjoy Sydney like the rich and famous? Here are five star-worthy ways:

1. Where to stay: Meriton Penthouse Apartments

Meriton Apartments offer four luxurious penthouse apartments, all of which would be ideal for an indulgent break. Locations include:

World Tower: On levels 71-74 of Sydney’s tallest residential building, you’ll find four luxurious, three bedroom penthouse apartments. Enjoy your plush bedding, watch your huge flat screen TV or jump in the spa before taking in the best 180 degree views of the city.

Pitt Street: Sitting on the top floor in a split-level three-bedroom penthouse apartment, you can enjoy unparalleled views of the city via the double high glass panels. 2. Visit One of Sydney’s Best Spas

We can only assume that celebrities make time for a bit of pampering on their holidays, so why not indulge in style at one of the city’s best spas?

Nature’s Energy: You’d be forgiven for forgetting you were in the heart of Balmain when relaxing inside the unisex baths of Nature’s Energy. As you enjoy your massage, you’ll be transported to a world of secluded rainforest with the spa’s dark cobbled stones, soy candles, coconut oil, shea butter and other natural elements.

Panpuri Organic Spa: In downtown Pyrmont, you’ll find the tranquil, Indonesian-inspired Panpuri Organic Spa. Among black and gold corridors you’ll be treated to aromatic candles, Cambodian stone sculptures and a range of treatments, including their signature Mali Moonlight Massage.

Fleur De Lys MediSpa: Well-known for its traditional Hamam experience, this Middle Eastern mythical escape is hidden just off Sydney’s Oxford Street. The heated marble slab, elaborate wall carvings and their 24-carat gold facial will leave you feeling like Arabian royalty.

3. Feel royal at the casino

When the evening rolls around, celebrities may swing by the casino to spend their copious amounts of cash and The Star is where you will find them. Leonardo DiCaprio, Alicia Keys, George Clooney and Joel Madden have all spent time here and it was also the venue for the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA) on 30 January 2014.

The Star offers everything you would expect from a world class entertainment venue with eight different bars, gorgeous signature cocktails, hand picked wines and a collection of 120 tequilas. However you choose to spend your night and whatever games you flutter your wads of cash at, you’re bound to enjoy an evening in the spectacular surrounds. You can even get down and boogie like a star in the casino’s very own internationally-run nightclub, Marquee.

4. Dine like the rich and famous

If you pick your restaurant carefully you will not only be eating like a star but you may just find yourself seated next to one! The rich and famous love nothing more than to grab a bite to eat in a funky, hip or fine dining restaurant and thankfully, Sydney is packed full of them. Among the hottest celeb hangouts are:
